Day ideas for a free day

Some days come out light: a travel day with nothing on it, or an ordinary day with a few free hours. When that happens, and you're a premium traveller with AI assistance and Day ideas from Perplexity on, the day shows a block that says Room in this day and something like "You have about 3 hours free this afternoon." Under it is Ask our adviser for ideas.

How it works

1. Tap Ask our adviser for ideas. A full-height sheet opens, titled "Ideas for Day N".
2. Read the first ideas. They come with lettered pins on a map (Show map / Hide map) and rows for each place. A row marked NEW is a place that isn't already in your trip.
3. Talk to it. Tap a suggestion chip or type, for example "Tell me what you're in the mood for…". The adviser keeps the conversation, so you can say "something quieter" or "closer to the hotel".
4. Add the one you like. When the adviser proposes something, tap Add to Day N, or Keep looking to carry on.

When you add a place

• It's added to that day and marked must-do. Once added, a re-plan won't move it out of your trip. You can still remove it yourself.
• The trip has changed, so times are hidden until you Re-schedule on the trip screen.
• If the day has no free slot left, the app says so: "This day has no free slot left."

When you'll see the offer

Only after Auto-plan has marked a day light and your phone agrees from its own time budget. It never shows on a rest day, the day you arrive after a long flight or the flight home. If you don't see the block, the day probably isn't light enough. See Reading a day.

What's sent

That day's city and stops go to Perplexity, along with whatever you type (up to 300 characters) and the conversation so far. Your name and email don't. See What the AI sees, and who gets it. Because you're typing to an outside company, don't include anything private.

Limits

• Each trip day has a limit on how many messages you can send. At it the composer says "That's all the ideas for this day — tap Done."
• Start over clears the conversation and asks for fresh ideas.
• There's also a monthly allowance shared by all travellers. When it's used up: "Ideas are paused for this month."
