Check this trip online
With AI assistance on, the app can look up opening days, closures and holidays for your dates, show where each fact came from, and say when it was checked. Premium
Place pages carry usual opening hours. They don't know that a shrine is closed for renovation in your week, or that your Tuesday is a national holiday. Check this trip online asks an AI with web search about exactly your places on exactly your dates, and keeps what it finds.
When it runs
- When you choose Check this trip online from the trip's ••• menu.
- When you press Build my schedule, Re-plan or Update times, the app checks first. While it does, the screen says "Checking this trip online…".
- The first Auto-plan from Confirm order doesn't run a separate check. The facts are checked on your next Re-plan or Build my schedule, or when you ask from the menu. The area steps of Auto-plan still look up what they need.
It's never automatic and never on a timer. A fact is only looked up when a trip needs it.
What it looks for
- Place hours and closures, for example "the main gate stays open all night but the upper trails close at dusk".
- The significance of a date, such as a public holiday or a festival in that city.
- Whether a journey works, such as the last departure of a train on a corridor.
Where you see the results
- On a day: a Checked online section. It says "From a web search on the date shown. Your plan's timings above are still the app's own estimates."
- For the whole trip: What this trip already knows → What we checked lists every checked fact by day and between areas.
Each fact names the websites it came from and the date it was checked. An old fact says "checked <date> — may have changed since". The ledger carries the line "Nothing here is booked, held or guaranteed."
Facts are shared, so they cost less
Facts about a place are stored once and shared by every traveller. If the answer is already fresh, the app uses it rather than asking again. That's why a popular place is quicker the second time anyone plans it.
Limits
- A run asks at most a limited number of questions at a time.
- There's a monthly allowance of web searches shared by all travellers. When it's used up you'll see "N questions weren't checked — this month's checking limit is used up." The plan itself is not affected.
