Words we use

A short glossary of the labels you'll see in the app.

Area
A group of saved places close enough to do together. A trip is planned one area at a time. See Areas, and what "Waiting to be planned" means.
Auto-plan
The first time the app lays your places across days. See Auto-plan and Re-plan.
Base
The town where you sleep, for one or more nights. Each day belongs to a base. See Where you sleep.
Build my schedule
Checks opening hours and travel times and puts a clock on every stop. See Build your schedule.
Checked online
A fact looked up on the web for your dates, with its source and date. Premium. See Check this trip online.
Day out
An area visited from a base's hotel without a night of its own. See Why a place isn't on a day, and why a day looks empty.
Departures
The board on a trip showing each base, its date and nights, and how you arrive. See The trip screen, from top to bottom.
Draft
A plan or schedule whose times haven't been checked yet. Draft times are marked ≈. See Build your schedule.
Founding member
Someone whose premium never expires. See What premium is.
Guided day
A ready-made single day on Explore. See Guided days.
Leg
One journey from one place to the next. See How you move.
Light day
A day with little planned, because of a journey, a rest or free time. See Travel days and rest days.
Mate code
A temporary code you make so a friend can invite you. See Your mate code.
Must-do
A place marked so a re-plan won't move it out of your trip. See Why a place isn't on a day, and why a day looks empty.
Organiser
The person who made a shared trip and who plans it. See Planning with trip mates.
Re-plan
Lays the whole trip out again after changes. See Auto-plan and Re-plan.
Rest day
The first day after a long flight, planned around sleep. See Travel days and rest days.
Routed, AI suggested, Estimate
Where a journey time came from. See Travel times between areas.
Running cost
What the app costs to run for you. Not a charge. See Running cost, line by line.
Saved places
Your library of bookmarked places, which trips are built from. See Saving places.
Trip mate
A friend who joined your trip and can add places. See What trip mates can and can't do.
Waiting to be planned
Places in a trip that aren't on a day yet. See Areas, and what "Waiting to be planned" means.
