Where you sleep

Each base of your trip has a place to stay suggested near your stops. Real places, but no prices, no ratings and no booking.

A trip is a string of bases: the towns where you sleep. Each base has a number of nights, and each day belongs to one. Open a stay on the Departures board, or tap a day's Base card, to see it.

What you see

  • The base: the area, how many nights and which days it covers, such as "Hakata Ward · 2 nights · days 1–2".
  • A suggested place with a pager under it, for example "1 of 5". Swipe for the others. Until you choose one, it says "not chosen".
  • The ledger (Where you sleep) lists every base with a place you can choose, or says "Nothing has been looked up for this trip yet. Auto-plan finds real places near each area you stay in."

Where the suggestions come from

For each base the app asks Apple Maps for hotels near the stops you'll visit from it, then keeps the five that sit closest on average. Where OffYaGo has its own list of places to stay, those are marked On our list.

What they are, and aren't

They're real places near your stops. The app says it plainly: "We have no prices, no ratings and no idea whether they have a room — this is only 'somewhere real exists here'." Nothing is booked or held.

Choosing one

Choose the place you intend to stay at, and the route uses it as the base: distances to and from each stop, and the "back to the hotel" line on a day, are worked from it. You can choose a different one later.

With premium: ask the adviser

A premium traveller with AI on can ask an adviser which mid-range hotels suit each base, with typical prices and links. See Where to stay.

Staying a night somewhere new

A day trip can turn into a stay if the area is far from a base. The trip says so under What we decided. See Why a place isn't on a day, and why a day looks empty.
