Why a place isn't on a day, and why a day looks empty
The usual reasons a saved place stays out of the plan, how the app tells you, and what to do about it. Needs an account
OffYaGo plans honestly. If it can't fit something sensibly, it says so rather than cramming it in. Here's how to find out why, and what to try.
Where it tells you
- On a day: a link reading Why some places aren't on any day at the bottom of the Day screen.
- On the trip: What this trip already knows → What we decided lists the choices in words, for example "Osaka left off" or "<place>, a day out from <base>".
- Under the Auto-plan notice when the run couldn't place everything.
The common reasons
| What you see | Why | What to do |

| A place waiting under "Waiting to be planned" | It was added after the last plan, or there was no room for it. | Re-plan, or add it to a day by hand from its menu. |
| An area "left off" | It would cost more travel than it's worth for the days you have, so it went back to your saved places. A place you marked must-do is never left off. | Add days with Change trip length, then re-plan. Or leave it out. |
| One long place has a day to itself | A stop that takes five hours or more claims the day instead of sharing it. | That's expected. If you'd rather not, remove or swap it. |
| A place that "isn't on its own day" | A longer place already covers it (it's included in a larger visit). | Nothing. It's part of the larger visit. |
| A day that says "Nothing planned yet" | The trip is longer than the places need. Those extra days are a buffer you chose. | Add places, shorten the trip, or enjoy the free day. See Day ideas for a free day. |
| A day that says "Light day" | A long journey or a rest day takes most of it. | Nothing. It's built that way. |
| A stop on a different day than you expected | Opening days, best times of day and travel decide the order. | Move it by hand, or check the hours on its place page. |
A day out from a base
An area close to your hotel doesn't need a night of its own. The plan visits it as a day out, returning to the same base. You'll see it named that way on the trip.
What you can change
- More days. Change trip length. See Editing a trip.
- A different order. Reorder areas.
- Mark a place as must-do from its menu if you really want it kept. A re-plan won't move it out of the trip.
