Export your itinerary as a PDF
A printable itinerary with a cover, a trip-at-a-glance table, where you'll stay, each day, and good-to-know notes. Share it, print it or save it to Files. Needs an account
When a trip has days in it, you can turn it into a PDF that reads like a printed itinerary from a travel adviser.
How
- Open the schedule screen of a trip, and tap the share button in its toolbar, labelled Export PDF. A scheduled or edited trip's tile in the Trips list also has a share icon.
- A sheet shows "Preparing your itinerary…" while it builds the document.
- Read it in the sheet, then tap Share. The iPhone's own share sheet opens, so you can AirDrop, message, email, save to Files, mark up or print it.
What's in it
- Cover: the trip's name, its dates, "Prepared for" you, and a one-line summary.
- Your trip at a glance: one row per day with the date, the place and what's on it.
- Where you'll stay: each base, with the suggested place marked "suggested, not booked".
- Day by day: each day with its date, hours, weather, stops and times.
- Trip cost estimate: when you've asked for one. See Trip cost estimate.
- Good to know: what was checked, the facts stored, the destination's time zone, and a reminder that hours and timetables can change.
A day with nothing on it is printed as "Nothing scheduled" rather than skipped, so day numbers line up. Every page after the cover has a footer with the trip and "Page n of N". The page size is A4, or US Letter in the US and Canada.
Drafts
If the schedule is still a draft, the PDF carries the same notice as the screen and every time is marked ≈. See Build your schedule.
If it won't make
The sheet says "Couldn't make the PDF" and "Close this and try again." Close it and try again. If it keeps happening, write to us.
