What trip mates can and can't do
Mates read the whole plan and add places, marked with their name. The organiser plans, schedules and decides. Needs an account
If you're a trip mate
- Read everything the organiser sees: the plan, the days and the schedule. Facts the organiser checked online with AI are left out, because AI answers are for the person who asked.
- See Who's going at the top of the trip, a row of everyone who accepted.
- Add places. A place you add goes straight onto the trip, in its waiting list, with "Added by <your name>" beside it. Saving a place and adding it to a shared trip moves it out of your own saved list, as it does for your own trips. You can take it back before the organiser plans around it.
- See what you can't change. The trip says "Only <organiser> can plan this trip".
The Day screen looks the same to you as to the organiser, but without the buttons that edit: Edit this day, Plan this day and the lunch adviser row aren't drawn.
If you're the organiser
- Only you can Auto-plan, Re-plan, change dates or order, build the schedule, rename, invite, remove people, stop sharing, use the advisers and delete the trip.
- Places your mates add wait under "Waiting to be planned" for you. You decide what stays: remove what you don't want.
- You get a notification when someone joins and, at most every five minutes per trip, when mates add places.
- You can remove a mate, or stop sharing altogether. If you delete the trip, each mate is told it's gone.
When someone leaves
If a mate leaves or is removed, the places they added stay on the trip with their name.
Notifications
About trip mates there are three: your invitation, "someone joined" and "someone added places". Everything else, such as declines or removals, appears only in the app's notification list. Notifications are about trips, never marketing. See Notifications.
