Notifications
Only two kinds: service messages about the app or your account, and trip-sharing messages. Never offers or promotions. Needs an account
OffYaGo asks once, right after you sign in: "Turn on notifications and we'll tell you when…"
- Someone asks to share a trip with you.
- Something important changes with your account or the service.
The screen adds: "That's all — never offers or promotions. You can change this any time in Profile."
What you may get
| Notification | When |
|---|---|
| Trip invitation | A friend invited you to a trip. |
| Trip mates | Someone joined your trip, or mates added places to it. For added places, at most one every five minutes per trip. |
| Service messages | Something you need to know about the app or your account, such as an outage or a security notice. |
That list is closed. Nothing else is sent, there's no marketing of any kind, and it isn't changed without saying so. We don't send a notification when a premium request is decided. You'll see it on your Profile.
Turn them on or off
- Profile → App → Notifications.
- Switch it on. If notifications are blocked for OffYaGo in your iPhone's Settings, the app says "Notifications are off" and offers to open Settings.
- Switch it off whenever you like. You can also turn them off in the iPhone's Settings → Notifications → OffYaGo.
Not getting them?
- Check Profile → App → Notifications is on.
- Check the iPhone's Settings → Notifications → OffYaGo allows alerts, and that Focus or Do Not Disturb isn't holding them.
- You don't need notifications to see an invitation. It also waits on the Trips tab's bell. See Accepting an invitation and joining a trip.
What we keep
If you allow notifications, your phone gets a push token and we store it with your account so we can reach you. Signing out or Start Over on This Device removes this phone's registration. See the Privacy Policy.
