Your Insider page and messages

Once the OffYaGo team has approved your application and you've signed in, your Profile has an Insider card above Account. This is where you set up the page travellers see. See OffYaGo Insiders, for tour operators for how to apply.

Set up your page

1. Open the card and tap to edit. Add a photo, then write 300 to 600 characters about yourself.
2. Choose the cities you cover (up to 10), up to 3 interests and up to 6 languages.
3. Switch on Shows you around and/or Plans with you.
4. Choose up to 3 sample trips. Travellers see a copy as it was when you published, so later changes don't reach them until you publish again. A trip that is shared can't be chosen.
5. Tap Publish. The app lists anything missing. Save as draft keeps it private.

Your page is listed when you're approved, it's published and the OffYaGo team hasn't hidden it. The card says which: Not set up yet, Not published, Listed for travellers or Hidden by OffYaGo.

A new or changed photo shows Waiting for a check until a person at OffYaGo approves it. Until then travellers see your initials.

Right now

Choose Available, Busy or Away, with a date back if you like. It's a setting you control, so travellers see only what you choose. Read receipts are on: a traveller sees Seen when you've read their message.

Answer messages

The Messages row on the card, and the speech-bubble button on the Trips screen, open your conversations by trip. Travellers see only your name and your page. To plan together, use the + menu in a conversation: Invite … to a trip you made, or Ask … to add you when the conversation is about their trip.

If a message reaches you while notifications are off, we email you once a day at most per conversation, with no message text. You can switch that email off on the card. You have no limit on the trips you make or join.

To end a chat, use Report or Block in the ••• menu. The OffYaGo team can hide or remove a page after a report.
