Signing in and having an account

Browsing needs no account. Trips, saved places, trip mates and Profile do, and the only way to sign in is Sign in with Apple.

Without an account

You can open the app and look around: Explore, Search and place pages all work. That's deliberate, so you can see what OffYaGo does before you commit to anything.

With an account

You need to sign in to:

  • save places and keep them between visits;
  • build trips, plan them and keep them safe on our servers;
  • invite trip mates or join a trip;
  • use Profile: your preferences, premium, Running cost and Mate code.

When you tap something that needs an account, such as a save button, a short sheet asks you to sign in. Choosing Not Now keeps you where you were.

How you sign in

Sign in with Apple is the only way to sign in. OffYaGo doesn't ask you to create a password. Apple can hide your email address. If you choose that, we only ever see Apple's private relay address, and that's all we store.

Staying signed in, and locking the app

You stay signed in on your phone until you sign out. If you want a lock, set a PIN in Profile → Security, with Face ID or Touch ID as a shortcut. The lock covers the app without signing you out. See App Lock: PIN, Face ID and Touch ID.

Signing out

Profile → Account → Sign Out signs you out and returns you to the start. Your trips and saved places stay in your account. They're not on the phone alone, so they're waiting when you sign back in. Signing out turns off the AI switches on that phone.

Deleting your account

Profile → Danger Zone → Delete Account removes your account and its data for good. See Deleting your account.
